Nokia launches N85

Nokia has launched a new handset N85 in the Indian market. Its salient features are, a 5 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 15 pre-download try and buy made especially for N –Gage games, FM transmitter, location tagging capabilities, Wi-Fi and 3.5 G HSPDA and a three month integral license for turn –by-turn voice navigation. With the above features it also provides you with an 8 GB microSD card and a voucher for a full gaming license which gives you the advantage of an enhanced gaming experience. This product is available in the market for INR Rs 27,299, thats about AUD 860 and USD 565 (thts expensive considering the global recession and bad FX rates).

The Director of Marketing Dept and Nokia India quotes, "The Nokia N85 was created to be more than the sum of its parts, offering a complete mobile entertaining package. Combined with landscape gaming and dedicated gaming keys for additional comfort, the Nokia N85 breaks the boundaries of mobile game play,"

I wonder if Nokia has some recession mitigation plans on their immediate agenda.

I mean with the markets sinking down, whoz goin to spare the pockets to get a cell phone with gaming capabilities especially in the era of PSPs nd iPhones. And at that price... ahhh!! I smell losses.

Finally a serious handset from Nokia, perhaps they needed to move focus away from Symbian whilst it gets reincarnated.

Im anticipating this handset.
